Community Ministries

Billy Graham Telephone Ministry- Woodlawn hosts a call center after a Billy Graham televised event. They are able to lead people toward a relationship  with Christ and listen to people going through difficult times. This ministry is usually once a month on a Saturday night.

Joslin Elementary- Woodlawn will collect school supplies and provide other support for the school throughout the year. They are always looking for people who will take time to be a mentor to their students.

Soup Kitchen- Help feed Austin's hungry at the Austin Baptist Chapel Soup Kitchen on every 4th Monday of each month. We wil be leaving Woodlawn at 9:30 AM and returning by 1:00 PM.

Bread Line- A group from Woodlawn will go to the Baptist Community Center during the week to hand out bread to families in need.

Homeless Ministry- Bridge of Angels- Woodlawn supports the Homeless Ministry of Bridge of Angels by providing a sack lunch to the homeless to take with them after they have received a hot meal and been present at a worship service under the bridge of I-35 at 7th street. Woodlawn provides this minstry the 3rd Saturday of each month.

Threads of Love- This ministry makes clothing, blankets, and other handmade items for tiny premature and sick infants. This ministry meets on Monday evening each week and once a month of a Sunday afternoon after worship service.

Homebound Ministry- This ministry will visit our elderly members who are unable to attend church at their home or care facility.

Nursing Home Ministry- A group of people will go to a nursing home on Sunday mornings to lead a time of worship for those that are unable to attend church.

Marbridge Ministry- Marbridge is a facility for people who have special needs. Each Sunday morning a Bible study is provided at the facility for those that are unable to attend a church.

Disaster Relief Volunteer- Woodlawn is connected to Austin Disaster Relief which helps people in Austin when disaster strikes, such as a weather-related disaster or from a fire. There are also opportunities to go state wide to assist in disaster relief through the Texas Baptist Men.
